Food Safety Certification
The Food Safety Manager’s Certification program focuses on the scientific principles associated with food safety and food science. This program expands on the educational base established in the HACCP Coordinator Certificate program. The courses required for this certification are offered through distance education, so you can complete this certification on your own time, wherever you choose. The program curriculum consists of three courses that address scientific principles and procedures associated with food safety. Each course is evaluated by the Quality Matters Rubric and taught by Dr. Clint Stevenson, Ph.D.
FS 352: Introduction to Microbial Food Safety Hazards (3 credits)
FS 354: Food Sanitation (3 credits)
FS 407: Risk Analysis and Hazard Analysis in Food Safety (3 credits)You can take courses in any order you wish. However, you will not be awarded a Food Safety Manager’s Certificate without first receiving a HACCP Coordinator Certificate.
